Agricultural buildings and rural workers dwellings

Old Turkey Farm Stables, Datchworth, East Hertfordshire

Vision Planning was instructed in March 2018 to help an equestrian worker gain planning permission to live on their equestrian holding for a temporary three year period.

We worked with Equine Consultancy Group to persuade the Council that there is “an essential need for a rural worker to live permanently at or near the holding”, which is the test set out in national planning policy.

This was successful, and planning permission was granted in August 2018.

After the three year period was over, we then applied for a permanent dwelling on site, and this received planning permission at Committee in June 2022.
